An engineering company in the Netherlands developed an early warning system for dike breaches. With this system a glass fibre is embedded in the dike. The system measures differences in movement of the dike during rising water levels and gives an alert if the differences are too big at a specific spot. I animated the dike in Studio 3d max and made the graph in Flash. .
